During the Anglo-Nepalese war of 1814-16 (Nepal lost control of the Darjeeling region and Sikkim to the British); it was in this period and in this place (as it borders Nepal ) that the soldiers set up camp by pitching tents.

Recipe
  • Heat  water and bring to boiling point.
  • Add one Tea Spoon of tea leaves to the teapot.
  • Pour rolling water into the teapot.
  • Cover the teapot and steep for 2-3minutes.
  • To taste the essence of the Tea best consumed as liquor, however some prefer to add Milk and sugar to taste.
  • Pour the brewed liquor into the cups.
  • The last few drops are the richest in flavour.
  • Enjoy the aroma, as you sip.
